Mt. Morris, IL, Joan Irene Brinker, age 80, of Mt. Morris, IL died Friday April 18, 2014 in KSB Hospital, Dixon, IL. Joanie was born October 22, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of Karl Matthew & Mary Irene (Benwill) Jacobs. She grew up in the Upper Peninsula, Gulliver, Michigan. Joanie graduated from Manistique High School class of 1951. Joanie married Fred " Fritz" Brinker on November 6, 1953 in Oregon, IL, and they were married for 47 years. Joanie has lived for the last 62 years in Mt. Morris where she was a hairdresser and co-owner of the Hair World. Joanie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oregon, IL. She was a quilter, seamstress, caretaker, MT. Morris Moose Member, and a Lawn mowing enthusiast. Joanie is survived by her 3 children: Jeff (Suzette) Brinker, Gulf Breeze, FL; Peggy (Chris) Regan, Glendale, CA; and Joe Brinker, Mt. Morris, IL. 3 Granddaughters and 4 great grandchildren. 3 Brothers: Francis (Janice) Jacobs, Sun City, AZ; Ronald (Joan) Jacobs, Gladstone, MI; Kris (Shirlee) Jacobs, Ellison Bay, WI; Sister: Dee (Joe) Smeester, Iron Mountain, MI. Joanie is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Fred Brinker; and 2 brothers: Barry and David Jacobs. Services will be Thursday April 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oregon, IL with Father Nail officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Thursday April 24, 2014 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Oregon, IL from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
