James David Dickson

Mt. Morris, IL, James David Dickson, age 70, passed away Tuesday October 22, 2019 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Jim was born June 13, 1949 in Rockford, IL the son of Robert D. & Esther E. (Hedrick) Dickson. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1967. Jim served in the US Army from 1969 until 1972 stationed in Germany during Vietnam. Jim worked at Crest Foods on the line for several years. Jim was a member of the Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren, Mt. Morris, Oregon VFW, active in AA and NA as a member and a mentor. Jim was an avid Chicago White Sox and Bears fan, he loved to fish, listen to classic rock, and most of all spend time with his family. He spent his last 18+ years in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, where his family felt he was the "Mayor/Hall monitor". Jim is survived by his daughter: Courtney Dickson, Chicago, IL; sister: Jan (Keith) Franklin, San Diego, CA; nieces: Elizabeth, Grace, and Faye Wisnosky, Iowa City, IA; nephew: Dave Wisnosky, College Park, MD; cousin: Dianne (Frank) Swingel, Oregon, IL. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; brother: Steven "Elmer" Dickson; and sister: Nancy Dickson. Memorial services will be held Friday October 25, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial will be Friday October 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.
