Herbert H Hill

Herbert H. Hill (Herb), age 92, went to live with his Heavenly Father on April 8, 2026 at Allure of Pinecrest in Mt. Morris, IL.

Herb was born on October 14, 1933 in Chicago IL. the son of Herbert H. Hill, Sr and Jewell Hill (Eaton). Herb graduated from Glenbard High School in 1952 and served in the US Army from 1954-1956. Herb studied AC

[Refrigeration at the College of Dupage. He worked as a Journeyman Plumber,

Local 501, until he started his own business, H Hill Plbg Heating and AC in 1970. He closed the business in 2001 and designed and built his and his wife Sue's dream home in Lost Lake. Herb married Sue Glos Hill of Batavia, IL in1973.

Herb lived a very active life. He enjoyed bow and arrow hunting, fishing and boating, ATVing, skiing, snowmobiling, traveling, scubadiving, snorkeling, dancing, and poker with friends! Herb also loved reading, with Jean Auel and Clive Cussler being among his favorites. One of Herb's favorite places was the lake home in northern Wisconsin. Herb was a member of Lighthouse United Methodist Church in Oregon, IL where he served as a Trustee for 4 years. He was a NRA Lifetime member,and a 36 year member of Masonic Lodge #472 in West Chicago, IL. He also was a Dixon Elks member for over 20 years. He served on the RCD Board of Lost Lake for 5 years serving as secretary, VP, and chair of The Recreational Bldg, and Parks Committee. Herb was a past member of RSES (Refrigeration Service

Engineers Society) in St. Charles, where he served as President in 1991.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn, and his parents Herbert and Jewell.

Survivors include, his wife, Sue, 3 sons, Steve (Debra) Hill of Geneva,

Randy( Eileen) Hill LaGrange Park Thomas (Judy) Hill St. Charles,

Grandchildren Robert Hill, Morgan (Harrison) Harnisch, Taylor Hill,

Samantha Hill, Danielle (Brad) Frederichs Great-grandchildren Quinn,

Elowyn, Charlie, and Juliette.Brother Marshall (Jane) Hill of San Antonio, TX Nieces Kathy Hill and Sherrie Kivisto,( Trisha, Kari, and Kendra) Cousin Dr. Dennis Hill and Mary.

Herb's extended family includes Cathy and Mike Conard (Ryan and Jenny),

David and Angie Cobb (Brittanie and Trent), Jeff and Sharon Kramer (Joe) Herb loved his entire family tremenduously and was proud of each and every one of their accomplishments, He was indeed a loving father, grandfather, and husband. May he rest in peace.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in Lighthouse United Methodist Church, Oregon, IL with Pastor David Rogula officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church. A family burial will be held in River Hills Memorial Cemetery, Batavia, IL at a later date.
