Mount Morris, IL - Helen G. Motter, 84, of Mount Morris died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, in Pinecrest Manor. Born Feb. 3, 1926, in Aurora, the daughter of John G. Benditz and Elizabeth (Seelman) Benditz. Married William V. Motter on April 23, 1954, in Aurora. Graduate of East High School, Aurora, Class of 1945. Member of Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, Winnebago, where she was very active for many years and was one of the early females to serve as member of the Session. She also was active for many years in the Leaf River Grange, Christian Woman's Club in Leaf River and Ogle County Republican Women. She worked side-by-side for 40 years with her husband in their insurance agency and income tax service. Survivors include husband, William; children, Elizabeth (Andy Kroese) Motter of Tahoe City, Calif., William K. Motter of Brownsville, Ore., and Kathryn (Rich) Brotherton of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; and brothers, John and William. Predeceased by parents; stepmother, Anna "Grandma" Benditz; brothers, Charles and Donald; and sister, Marie Steineinger. Service at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at Finch Funeral Home, Mount Morris, with the Rev. Richard Bright officiating. Burial in Lightsville Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in the funeral home. Memorials to Middle Creek Presbyterian Church and Leaf River Historical Society.
