Harold M "Nels" Nelson

Mt. Morris, IL, Harold M. "Nels" Nelson, age 91, died Saturday August 17, 2013 in Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center, Oregon, IL. Nels was born April 22, 1922 in Asbury Park, NJ the son of Harold L. & Susan (McCoy) Nelson. Nels entered the US Army in 1947. He served in the Army Green Berets. Nels married Nancie Carr McDermott on June 19, 1970 in Rock Island, IL. Nels is survived by his Wife: Nancie Nelson, Mt. Morris, IL, Son: Andrew (Ruth) Nelson, Portsmouth, VA, Stepson: Barry (Carol) McDermott, Buhl, ID. 5 Grandchildren. 10 Great Grandchildren. Nels is preceded in death by his Parents, Stepson: Robert L. McDermott Jr., 2 Brothers and 1 Sister. Memorial services will be in Oakwood Cemetery, August 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Finch Funeral Home 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL is assisting the family. In Lieu of Flowers memorials to Mt. Morris Public Library.
