Gretchen Diab

Mt. Morris, IL, Gretchen Diab, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home on March 18, 2026. Gretchen was born on January 6, 1940, in Mt. Morris, IL; the daughter of Harry & Doris (Buser) Conrad. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School, and she received her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Carthage College.

She taught school in the Oregon district and in Okinawa, Japan. She loved her cats and she referred to herself as the cat lady. Gretchen loved her cats, but she loved and cared for all animals. She travelled to many places.

Gretchen is survived by her niece: Cindy (Greg) McIntyre, Winnebago, IL; great nephews: Patrick (Emily), Sean, and Kyle (Rachel) McIntyre; and two great great niece and nephew. Several Cousins; and several dear friends.

She preceded in death by her parents, sister: Nancy Bowen.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday March 25, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in Adeline Cemetery, Adeline, IL.
