Gregory C Chambers

Polo, IL, Gregory C. Chambers, age 73, passed away on November 9, 2022 in CGH Hospital, Sterling, IL.  Greg was born on June 12, 1949 in Rockford, IL; the son of Clarence & Ruby (Thedorff) Chambers.  He graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1967.  After high school Greg served his country in the United States Air Force.

Greg worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator for the IEOU Local 150.  He also drove a semi-truck and hauled grain for many local farmers.

Greg was an animal lover, especially his cats; he was an avid sports fan; which he loved his Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.  He liked to frequent the local diners, having coffee and some laughs with the locals.

We would like to thank Visiting Angels and the people that have helped care for Greg over the years.

Greg is survived by his cousins: Jeff (Laurie) Corcoran, Chris Corcoran, Julie (John) Stafford, Laura (Rusty) Rome, and his special friends: Earl (Joan) Rowland.

He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and all of his aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will take place on Monday November 14, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL.  Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.  Visitation will be held on Monday November 14, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
