Glenn W Springer

DATELINE: Mt. Morris, IL Mt. Morris, IL, Glenn W. Springer, age 94, died February 9, 2012, in Pinecrest Village, Mt. Morris, IL. Glenn was born September 6, 1917, in Lincoln Township, Ogle County, IL, the son of John W. & Ella (Garkey) Springer. He married Bernice E. Shank on October 7, 1939 in Dubuque, IA. She preceded him in death October 26, 2006. Glenn worked at Kable Printing Company as a pressman, retiring in 1978 after 38 years. Glenn served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He also served for 15 months as an auxiliary Military Police Army of the United States at Green River Ordnance Plant. Glenn was a member of GCIU- union pressman, Veteran of Foreign War life member of Post 8739, and he was past president of Oakwood Cemetery. Glenn is Survived by Sister in Law: Gladys Springer and Nephew: Steve Springer. He is preceded in death by Parents; Brothers: Ross Springer and Floyd Holland; Sister: Ada Keller. Funeral service will be held Monday February 13, 2012 at 11:00 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL, with Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Monday February 13, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. till service time in the funeral home. Memorials to Serenity Hospice and Home and/or Mt. Morris Fire Department.
