Memorial services for Glenda L. King, age 73, who passed away at home August 1, 2012, were held at Mt. Olives Lutheran Church, on August 26, 2012. Glenda was raised and received her schooling in Leaf River, IL. Following a long career in the computer division of Salt River Project AZ, she spent her retirement years actively involved in her church's food closet and Olive Branch Food Closet. She was a very active member of the service sorority Beta Sigma Phi, holding a number of positions both in her chapter and the Phoenix City Council and attending conventions in Alaska, Arkansas, Canada, Pennsylvania, Utah, and California. She loved travelling until her health prevented it in recent years. Glenda is survived by Brother: Roger (Lorraine) Cheek, Mt. Morris, IL; 3 nieces, nephew, and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by parents: Edward & Violet Kretsinger Cheek, and a sister: Virgie Toddhunter. A family committal service will be held at Pinecrest Manor Chapel, Mt. Morris, IL at 10:00 A.M. September 8, 2012, with Rev. Richard Bright officiating. Cremains will be interred in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeport, IL.
