Geraldine Tabor

January 5, 1938 — November 16, 2024

Mt. Morris

Geraldine was born in Wauwatosa, WI on Jan 5, 1938 to Gerald and Rose. She eventually moved to Davenport and was adopted by Aileen Martens. She had 2 brothers, Donald and Pete and a sister Penny. Geri married Jerry Kline in 1957 who was in the Air Force, and they had 4 beautiful daughters, JoAnne, Catherine, Sheryl and Lori. She enjoyed traveling and living in many different places, but most of all she enjoyed being a stay at home Mom for her daughters. She got remarried to Winston Tabor in 1975, who passed on January 13, 2010. Together they were emergency foster care parents for over 200 foster children, they ran a home day care, owned a craft store, and an Alzheimer Care Center. Geri occasionally worked as a CNA in many different nursing homes and did a lot of volunteer work. She was an awesome Grandma to James, Lindsey, Laramie, Katie, Bobby, Forrest, Brittany, Kevin, Steven and Patrick. And happily became a Great Grandma to Macy, Colton, Remi, Valentina, Rocky, Freya, and has one on the way. Geri is known for her sweet, kind, loving personality. She was well known for her sweet smile, laugh and the rolling of her eyes. For 4 ft 11”, she was a ball of fire. In her later years dementia began to creep in. But she was strong and battled it all the way to the end. Geri is survived by Jerry, JoAnne (Mike), Cathy (Dale), Sheryl, Lori, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. We’d like to thank Ft Armstrong, Heritage Woods, Allure of Pinecrest, all her Drs., CNA’s, and everyone else that walked beside us in her journey of Life.

A graveside service for Geraldine will be held on November 26, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport, IA.
