Gerald Lee "Fricky" Frickson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gerald Lee Frickson.

Gerald Lee Frickson “Fricky”, age 80, of Adeline, IL passed away suddenly on September 23, 2026 in his home surrounded by his family. Gerald was born on August 5, 1946 in Rockford, IL to Robert & Deloris (Roush) Frickson. He was raised by Harry & Maude Thomas. Fricky graduated from Leaf River High School. He served in the United States Navy for 6 years. Fricky married Bertha DeLong on February 26, 1966 in Forreston, IL.

Fricky worked for Quebecor Printing in Mt. Morris and for the local 150 construction. On his time off, Fricky loved to work in his shed, driving his tractors, playing cards with his wife, feeding all the stray cats, and spending time with his wife and family.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife: Bertha “Birdie”, loving daughters: Cindy Vermeis, Amboy, IL and Peggy (Michael) Paulson, Caledonia, IL; 3 loving grandchildren: Gretchen and Rebecca Vermeis, Jordan (Jessica) Paulson; and many family members and loved ones.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents; step parents, and sister: Rosalie Stukenberg.

Cremation rights have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home. A private family service along with a military gun salute and taps.
