Durand, IL - Gerald (Jerry) E. Blake, age 74, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. He was born on May 22, 1938 in Rockford, IL, the son of Walter & Kathryn (McKee) Blake. Jerry attended Mt. Morris High School. He worked as a Material Handler for Kable Printing Company, and he also was a diesel Mechanic for Binkley Enterprises. Jerry loved his "Old Time" Country Music, Blue Collar Comedy, golfing, bowling, swimming, riding motorcycles, and snowmobiling. Jerry is survived by his Past Wife: Joan Moore, Salton City, CA; Children: Cheryl (Joseph) Ciuffreda, San Diego, CA; Becky Bailey, Durand, IL; Kathy Rude, Sycamore, IL; Esther Martin, Marengo, IL; Cliff (Jill) Blake, Polo, IL; and Past Wife: Connie Blake, Oregon, IL, Child: Cassie Blake, Oregon, IL. 12 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. Jerry is preceded in death by his Parents; Step-Mom, Bertha Blake; Brothers: Darrell and Lloyd Blake; and Sister: Janice Johnson. Funeral services will be Thursday January 31, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt Street, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Doc Newcomb officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday January 30, 2013 in Finch Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. In Lieu of Flowers memorials to Ogle County Serenity Hospice and Home.
