Gary Dean Miller Sr

Oregon, IL, Gary Dean Miller Sr., age 82, passed away on December 6, 2018 in his home with his wife by his side. Gary was born November 19, 1936 in Mt. Morris, IL the son of O'Kenneth & Myrtle June (Folk) Miller. Gary graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, where he was in the Amb Co. 4th Medic Battalion in Germany. Gary married Sharon K. Mitchell- Tillett on December 31, 1986 in Oregon, IL. Gary worked for Ogle County Animal Control and Zoning, construction, fishing and hunting guide, and many other numerous jobs over his lifetime. Gary was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener which many people purchased his tomatoes, he traveled to Argentina with his brother Marv, Canada, and many trips to South Dakota. Gary is survived by his wife: Sharon "Dottie" Miller, Oregon, IL; children: Gary (Denise) Miller Jr., Freeport, IL; Brian Miller, Eufaula, OK; Bradley Hagelund, Checotah, OK; Ron (Gretchen) Tillett, Byron, IL; Dawn (Dennis) Ankney, Chana, IL; 11 grandchildren: Aaron Phillips, Jacob Miller, Jeremiah Miller, Matthew Miller, Brent Hagelund, Jarett Hagelund, Stephanie Smice, Hannah and Sarah Tillett, Daniel and Joshua Ankney; great grandchildren: Brayden, Blake, and Brody Miller, James Kunz , Savannah "Beanie" Smice; brother: Marvin (Juanita) Miller; sisters: Mary Ann (Keith) Glazier, and Kay (Kenny) Sorn; many nieces and nephews. Gary is preceded in death by his parents, brother: Richard. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday December 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 11, 2018 in Finch Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers memorials to be determined.
