Frances A. Martin - 86 4/23/1925 - 1/31/2012 Freeport, IL - Frances A. Martin, age 86, died January 31, 2012 in Provena St. Joseph Center, Freeport, IL. Frances was born April 23, 1925 in Dixon, IL the daughter of Otto W. & Ollie B. (Huyett) Kreger. She graduated from Amboy High School class of 1942. Frances married Tommy G. Martin on June 9, 1947, he preceded her in death July 7, 1967. She worked at Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, IL for 25 plus years until the strike, she then moved to Virginia Beach for 2 1/2 years, she then moved back to the area and worked for Woods of Hesston for 12 years before retiring in 1993. Frances moved then to Freeport, IL in 2002. She enjoyed bowling in her younger days. She also enjoyed embroidering, golfing, crocheting, reading, she was a big fan of Nascar and camping. Nothing gave her more pleasure than being with family and great-grandchildren. Survived by One Daughter: Terri (Rich Schmidt) Shellhause, Elizabeth, IL; 3 Grandchildren: Angelia (Bob) Green, Wheaton, IL; Christi (Shawn Robertson) Thyberg, Lena, IL; Kevin (Ashley Loomis) Shellhause, Forreston, IL; 5 Great Grandchildren that called her "Gigi": Anna & Paige Green, Wheaton, IL; Hunter & Wyett Thyberg, Lena, IL; Jakob Scott Shellhause, Forreston, IL. She is preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Tommy; son in infancy; brother, LeRoy Kreger; Sister: Helen Duffy. Funeral service will be Saturday Febraury 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL, with Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Visitation will be Saturday Febraury 4, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. till service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Dixon, IL.
