Florence Arlene Bowker

Mt. Morris, IL, Florence Arlene Bowker, age 93, passed away on Saturday November 14, 2020 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL.   Arlene was born on July 21, 1927 in Norwich, CT; the daughter of Theodore & Florence (Buckley) Calkins.  Arlene married John W. Bowker Jr. on November 11, 1947 in Norwich, CT and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2006.

Arlene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister.  She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bead art work and making ornaments.  She loved her birds, her special African Grey named Luke who now lives with Arlene’s granddaughter Tiffany Berry.  She enjoyed the trips back to Norwich, CT and visiting with Robert Buckley at Beach Pond.

Arlene is survived by children: John W. Bowker III, Mt. Morris, IL; Cheryl (Marv) Satterfield, Mt. Morris, IL; Tom (Jane) Bowker, Humboldt, TN; Tim (Cathy) Bowker, Davenport, IA; Dee Jay (Jud) Colliflower, Davenport, FL; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great grandchildren; brother: Harold Calkins; sisters: Hildur Calkins, Marilyn Carter, Polly (Buster)  Rolffe, Virginia Burnell.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband: John Jr.; brothers: Richard and Theodore; grandson: TJ Bowker.

Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL.
