Mt. Morris, IL, Everett Lundin, age 85, died Saturday July 19, 2014 in the Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, IL. Everett was born on July 23, 1928 in Mt. Morris, IL the son of Dale Everett Miller & Julia Slaughter Miller Lundin. Everett was baptized December 25, 1928 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL. He was later adopted by Ernest Lundin and was the eldest of four children. Everett graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1947. Everett served in the Army from December 1950 to November 1952; and he was stationed in Korea during the Korean War. When Everett returned home his love for the land led him to farming and milking cows. Everett married Wilda Anderson Nelson on May 25, 1968 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Iowa. Everett had a strong faith in God, attending Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL where he participated in many activities. He retired from farming in 1996. He enjoyed traveling across the country especially by train. Everett is survived and will be greatly missed by his Wife: Wilda Lundin, Mt. Morris, IL. 4 Children: Larry (Nancy) Nelson, Mt. Morris, IL; Kevin Nelson, Mt. Morris, IL; Clair Nelson, Clarinda, IA; Laura (Jonathan) Gabriel, Gordon, WI. 3 Sisters: Joyce (Hank) Olthof, Australia; Myrna Hagemann, Rockford, IL; and Ebba Fewell, Rockford, IL. 6 Grandchildren: Emily (Nathan) Clements, Lakeside, MT; Erica (Randy) Bocker, Mt. Morris, IL; Amy Nelson, Dennison, IA; Andrea Nelson, Cedar Falls, IA; Aaron and Jacob Gabriel, Gordon, WI. 3 Great Grandchildren: Levi, Adalyn, and Kasen Bocker, Mt. Morris, IL. Many Nieces and Nephews. Everett was preceded in death by his Parents, Infant Brother, as well as two Brothers in Law. Funeral services will be on July 23, 2014 at 10:30 A. M. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Frank Lay officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday July 22, 2014 in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church and/or Serenity Hospice & Home.
