Mount Morris, IL - Ethel Kathleen Robinson, 78, of Mount Morris, died April 15, 2010, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Mount Morris, daughter of Burdette Myers and Blanche (Miller) Myers and graduated of Mount Morris High School, Class of 1949. She married G. Richard Robinson on June 16, 1951, in Mount Morris; he died Nov. 20, 2004. Ethel was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of Disciples United Methodist Church of Mount Morris, Chatty Quilters, United Methodist Women and Ogle County Home Extension. She was an avid reader and loved quilting. She is survived by a son, Richard (Julie) Robinson, of Mount Morris; grandsons, Sean Robinson, of Mount Morris, and James (Kimberly) Robinson, of Lena; great-grandson, A.J. Robinson, of Lena; great-granddaughter, Taylor Robinson, of Lena; and special friends, Bonnie, Corky and Jackie. She was also predeceased by her parents; sister, Lois Avey; and brother, Don Myers. Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, in Disciples United Methodist Church, Mount Morris, with visitation from 10 a.m. to time of service; the Rev. Doc Newcomb officiated. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Mount Morris. Memorials may be made to Disciples United Methodist Church or Pinecrest Manor, Mount Morris. Arrangements by Finch Funeral Home.
