Ethel Marie Mckay

Mt. Morris, IL, Ethel Marie McKay, age 85, died Friday December 26, 2014 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Marie was born May 28, 1929 in Mt. Erie, IL the daughter of Herman & Pearl (Anniss) Greifzu. She was a graduate of Mt. Erie High School Class of 1945 (3 Year Accredited School) and she was a graduate of Albion High School class of 1946. Marie married William H. McKay Jr. on December 15, 1946 in Mt. Erie, IL. Marie was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church, and her first priority was WIFE, MOTHER, and HOMEMAKER. She worked as a dental assistant, library assistant, and was an Avon representative for 50 years. Marie is survived by Son: William Henry (Sandy) McKay III, Mt. Morris, IL, Daughter: Linda Sue (Albert) Wankel, Lake Port, CA. 8 Grandchildren: Anna Marie, Brien John, Jeffrey Albert, Garrett William, Alastair McKay, and Malcolm Kieran Wankel; Billie Jo and Dustin William McKay. 2 Great Grandchildren: Bowie McKay and Ferris Wankel. 3 Sisters: Eva Mae (Bill) Hicks, Olney, IL; Ruby Eileen Whitten, Raleigh, NC; and Ruth Elaine (Byron) Elliott, Cisne, IL. 1 Brother: Glen Eldon Greifzu, Pensacola, FL. Several Nieces and Nephews. Marie is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband (William); Sister: Mary Elizabeth Greifzu; and 2 Brothers: Earnest William and Guy Vernon Greifzu. Memorial service will be Wednesday December 31, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in Disciples United Methodist Church with Rev. Dwight Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday December 30, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials to Mt. Morris Public Library and/or Disciples United Methodist Church.
