Mount Morris, IL - Eric Mann of Mount Morris died Tuesday, March 1, 2011. He was born December 11, 1925 in Mt. Morris, the son of Heathcote "Hec" and Ellen "Trine" Mann, and graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1943. As a veteran of WWII, he enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific Theater. Graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1950. He met his wife, Nancy Miller, at the university and they were married on June 16, 1951 in Burlington, WI. He joined his father and brother working for Mann Graphic Arts in Mt. Morris. Throughout his 40-year career in commercial art, Mann Graphic Arts serviced the printing and publication industry as well as retail and manufacturing companies and won numerous awards both locally and regionally. His wife Nancy assisted him in the business for over 30 years. Eric had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed drawing cartoons for friends, listening to Big Band music, and was a good dancer. Hobbies also included fishing and photography. Eric was a loving father and grandfather known to his grandchildren for always passing out lemon drops when they visited. He is survived by sons, Christopher (Cecilia) of Rockford and Michael (Cindy) of Byron; daughter, Elisabeth Mann of Rockford; grandchildren Erica, Cameron, Ellen and Jeffrey. Predeceased by parents; brother, Robert; and wife Nancy. Memorial service on April 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mt. Morris. In lieu of flowers, donations to Mt.
