Elizabeth "Betty" G Lowry

Mt. Morris, IL, Elizabeth "Betty" G. Lowry, age 97, died on November 17, 2015 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Betty was born October 9, 1918 in Richland, NY the daughter of Scott J. & Grace P. (Franks) Lowry. Betty graduated from Dixon High School class of 1935, West Suburban Hospital as a registered nurse in 1940, and she had many management-training programs with United Airlines. She was a member of Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church. Betty worked as a register nurse for West Suburban Hospital from the time she graduated from nursing school until 1941, and then she worked for United Airlines for 37 years as Flight Attendant and In-Flight Management. She was president of Silver Wings Plus and was Senior Travel Club President 1986 & 1987 with United. Betty is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mina (Spencer) Price; Vivian Shinn; Betty Stone; Donald (Nancy) Lowry; Norma (Neil) Peterson; Robert (Pat) Lowry; Kenneth (Debbie) Lowry, Pauline (Orlie) Harrington; and many Great nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her Parents; Brothers: Scott D. Lowry and Henry O. Lowry; Sister: Vivian Conley; Nieces and Nephews: Judy Brandt, Alice Rottke, Marjorie Blaga, Marian Spardella, Shirley Haas, and Gary Lowry Memorial service will be held at later date in The Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home Chapel.
