Mt. Morris, IL - Edmund W Doherty Jr, 66, of Oregon passed away unexpectedly on Friday Aug 19 while on a hunting trip in Canada with his brothers and good friend Tom Everts. Ed was born Feb 5, 1945 in Freeport to Edmund Sr and Norma (Reynolds) Doherty. He married his wife Julie on Dec 30,1996. Ed was an avid horseman and sportsman. His true passion was fishing and hunting in Canada. There wasn't a horse he couldn't train or anything he couldn't repair or restore. Surviving are his wife Julie and her family, his daughter Angi and her children. Brothers Tim Doherty, Danny Doherty (Marlena Kerr) both of Mount Carroll, sisters Tonya Bushelle (Duane Eiseman) of Freeport, Pam (Dale) Sandell of Kent and Janna Johnson (Jon Davidson) of Pearl City, several aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rick and sister-in-law Susan Doherty. Visitation is Thursday, September 1st from 4-6 pm. Memorial Service following at 6:00 pm in Finch Funeral Home.
