Earl R Counsil

Mt. Morris, IL, Earl R Counsil, age 81, passed away after a battle with cancer on Wednesday April 22, 2026 in Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, IL. He was born on October 3, 1944 the son of James C & Edna M Counsil. Earl married Carole Gummel on October 27, 1962 in Nahunta, GA; and she preceded him death on December 21, 2020.

Earl worked as a quality assurance supervisor for Meade Paper, West Chicago, IL after many years. After his retirement he moved to Mt. Morris, IL.

Earl is survived by his grandchildren: Valerie Garrett and Ty Counsil; 1 brother: Charlie (Pat); daughter in law: Debra Counsil- Ekstrom; special friend and caregiver: Rita Martin.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Carole; Son: David W.; 2 sisters: Mary and Joy; 1 brother: Jim.

Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Services will be scheduled at a later date.
