Duane E Mon Sr

Mt. Morris, IL, Duane E. Mon Sr., age 69, died January 13, 2013, in his home. Duane was born April 16, 1943 in Dixon, IL the son of Arnold & Frances (Quaco) Mon. Duane was raised by his Mother and Step-Father (Louie Zimmerman) after his father, Arnold died during the Korean Conflict. Duane was painter all his life, starting when he was 12 years old. His hobbies were Nascar, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears; he also loved to fish and read. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. Duane was survived by The Love of His Life; Louise Disch, Mt. Morris, IL. 2 Sons: Brian (Louise DuSavage) Mon, Rockford, IL and Duane E. Mon Jr., Phoenix, AZ. Daughter: Charity (Keith) Irvin, Polo, IL. Step-Sons: Melvin (Brooke) Patterson, Grove Spring, MO; Jake (Theresa Maine) Disch, Oregon, IL; Loren Disch, Mt. Morris, IL; Robert Disch, Mt. Morris, IL. 12 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Brother: Gary (Penny) Mon, Polo, IL; Donald Zimmerman, Clovis, NM. His beloved pet, Baby Bird. Duane is preceded in death by his Parents, Step-Father, Brother: Bob Zimmerman. Duane wanted to donate his body to science for study in hopes of helping others. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
