Mt. Morris, IL, Duane "Digger" Hagemann, age 82 , died Saturday March 2, 2013 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL. Duane was born October 6, 1930 in Freeport, IL the son of Herman & Ella (Avey) Hagemann. Duane graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1949. Duane served in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. Duane married Nancy Lizer on February 3, 1951 in Mt. Morris, IL. Duane worked in the finishing department in Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, IL for 40 years, where he served as a Supervisor for several years. He was a school bus driver for 10 years in the Mt. Morris School District. Duane served as the Mt. Morris Township Assessor for 12 years. Duane was a member of the Mt. Morris Brethren Church. Duane was a member of the Mt. Morris American Legion Post 143 and the Oregon VFW Post 8739. He was also a member of the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge #1551. Duane loved to golf, and he loved watching all sports. Duane is survived by his wife: Nancy Hagemann, Mt. Morris, IL. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers: Arnold, Jerry, and Charles; and Sister: Iola. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in the Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren with Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Memorials to Mt. Morris Senior Center and/or Mt. Morris Brethren Church
