Mt. Morris, IL, Dorothy M. Modler, age 81, passed away in Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, IL. Dorothy was born August 2, 1936 in Rockvale Township near Leaf River, IL the daughter of Everett M. & Edna (Palmer) Davis. She graduated from Leaf River Schools. Dorothy married Robert D. Modler on April 6, 1957 in Polo, IL; loving husband of 49 years. Robert preceded her in death in 2006. Dorothy was a proud and generous woman who had many joys and interests. Her first priorities were a loyal, loving, forgiving, fun-hearted mother and grandmother. She was member of the Airstream Wally Byam Caravan Club International since 1972; where she served as past director of the Northern Illinois Unit. Member of the Mt. Morris Women of the Moose. Dorothy loved flowers and gardening. Dorothy retired from Kable News Accounts Receivable after 30 years and also Kable Printing for 8 years. Dorothy and Robert were blessed to travel to many beautiful areas of America. Dorothy is survived by two sons: Michael Modler, Sterling and Steven Modler, Mt. Morris, IL; 3 grandchildren: Jonathan, Amber, and Robert; 5 great grandchildren: Aubree, Emmit, Aurora, Henry, and Abel; brother: Eugene Davis; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and husband: Robert. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 17, 2018 at 5:00 P.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Sterling, IL at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday July 17, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
