Dorothy Jean Capes

Mt. Morris, IL, Dorothy Jean Capes, age 92, passed away on Thursday November 18, 2021 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.  Dorothy was born on September 12, 1928 in Rockford, IL; the daughter of Charles A & Erma (Kronk) Wagner.  She married Donald F. Capes on August 27, 1955 in Oregon, IL.  Dorothy worked in the office for Micro Switch in Freeport, IL until her retirement.

She is a member of the Oregon Church of God, Oregon, IL. Dorothy was a very private, but she loved her time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her sisters: Shirley Palmer, Byron, IL, Joan “Peggy” Janssen, Oregon, IL, Patricia Carpenter, Mt. Morris, IL, Beverly Snyder, Louisville, KY; Several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Donald Capes; son: Gary Franklin; 4 brothers: Charles Wagner, Jr., Richard Wagner, William Wagner, and Jerry Wagner.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday November 23, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL; with pastor Michael Hoffman officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 23, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.
