Donna M Wells

Leaf River, IL, Donna M. Wells, age 89, passed away on Thursday December 7, 2023 in Allure of Pinecrest, Mt. Morris, IL.  Donna was born on August 19, 1934 in Rockford, IL; the daughter of Teno and Elizabeth (Johnson) Encerti.  She graduated from East High School class of 1952, Rockford, IL.  Donna married John S. “Pap” Wells on September 5, 1962 in Dixon, IL; and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2003.

Donna was employed at Pinecrest Community Center as a certified dietary manager.  She was a member of the Leaf River United Methodist Church and of the Dietary Manager Association.  Her grandchildren were the joys of her life.

Donna is survived by her son: J.T. (Diane) Wells, Mt. Morris, IL; daughters: Lynn (Lee) Miller, German Valley, IL, Sandra (Larry) Wells, Forreston, IL, Tena (Dennis) Krueger, Leaf River, IL; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;1 great-great grandchild and sister: Dolores (Norman) Abbott, Omaha, NE.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband: “Pap”.

Private family funeral services will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL; with Rev. Rodney Caldwell officiating.  Burial will be in Egan Cemetery, Egan, IL.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 12, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in Finch Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials will be established.
