Donna L. Waddelow

Mt. Morris, IL, Donna L. Waddelow, age 95, passed away on Friday December 12, 2025 at Allure of Pinecrest Manor, Mt. Morris, IL.

Donna was born on August 5, 1930 in Mt. Morris, IL, the daughter of Irvin and Helen (Schwartz) Fleer. She married Darrel L. Waddelow on June 23, 1951 in the United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris, IL, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2022.

Donna graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1948. She graduated from Wesley Memorial Nursing School in Chicago in 1951. Donna worked as an industrial nurse for Kable Printing Company retiring in 1991 after 30 years.

She was a member of Disciples United Methodist Church, Dorcas Circle, and the Mt. Morris Senior Center; serving on the board for 6 years.

When Donna’s five children were growing up in Mt. Morris, she enjoyed attending their school events and sports contests. She also enjoyed visits from and spending time with her grandchildren, especially at Christmas time and the Fourth of July. Donna and Darrel loved to travel and looked forward to their annual trips to Florida. Donna was an avid reader and made many visits to check out new books at the public library.

Donna is survived by sons: Douglas (Annette) Waddelow, Grayslake, IL, David (Marsha) Waddelow, Santa Ana, Costa Rica, Daniel (Crystal) Waddelow, Greencastle, PA; daughters: Darla (Rex) Hamel, The Villages, FL, DeAnne (Adam) Auld, Browns Summit, NC; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister: Janet McNiven, Huntington Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna is predeceased by her parents; husband: Darrel; and brother: Donald.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 at 12:00 P.M. in the Disciples United Methodist Church with Pastor Marcia Peddicord officiating.  A visitation will be held on Saturday April 11, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. until service time in Disciples United Methodist Church.  A private family burial will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Disciples United Methodist Church, Mt. Morris Senior Center, and/or Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL.
