Oregon, IL, Donald George Leary, age 90, died March 21, 2015 in the Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, IL. Don was born October 23, 1924 in Oregon, IL the son of George C. & Rose (Schmidt) Leary. Don married Angela Seyster in St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon, IL on February 7, 1948. Don was a life long Dairy Farmer with a great interest in soil conservation. Don was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon Lions Club, Oregon VFW, and the Ogle County Farm Bureau. Don served in the US Marines Corps in the South Pacific from 1944-1946. Don is survived by his Wife: Angela Leary, Oregon, IL; Sons: Patrick (Kay) Leary, Vero Beach, FL and Donald (Pamela) Leary, New Baden, IL. 4 Grandsons: Brent (Sarah) Leary, Ryan (Jennifer) Leary, Rhett (Cassie Barr) Leary, and Shane (Ashley Jordan) Leary. 1Granddaughter: Paula (Eric) Wilson. 2 Great Grandsons: Aidan and Kellen Leary. 2 Great Granddaughters: Anabelle and Eve Wilson. 3 Brothers in Law: Thomas (Janie) Miller, James (Carol) Miller, and Stephen (Susan) Miller. Sister in Law: Mary Leary; and several Nieces and Nephews. Don is preceded in death by his Parents; 2 sisters: Vera Mattison and Evelyn Fruin; Brother: John Leary; and Brother in Laws: David Miller, Donald Mattison and William Fruin. "Goodnight, sweet prince, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest." A funeral mass will be held April 18, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Naill officiating. Memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church and/or Serenity Hospice & Home. Finch Funeral Home is assisting the Family with services.
