Mt. Morris, IL, Donald R. Bicksler, age 86, died April 24, 2012 in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home, Mt. Morris, IL. Donald was born June 7, 1925 in Shannon, IL; the son of Archie & Orelda (Brandt) Bicksler. Donald married Betty F. Bradley on July 11, 1944 in Lynwood, CA. He served in the US Navy as a WT3C on a Air, Sea & Rescue ship, that helped raise the Battleship Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor. Donald worked as a Warehouse Foreman for a grocery distributor, while living in California. He was a member with the teamsters and Food Employer Local 439, and the Leaf River Lions Club. Donald is survived by his wife: Betty Bicksler for 67 years, Mt. Morris, IL; Sons: Randall (Linda) Bicksler, Alpena, MI; and Steven Bicksler, Covina, CA. 6 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great- Grandchild. Brothers: Russell Bicksler, Freeport, IL and Wayne (Donna) Bicksler, Freeport, IL. Sisters: Ethel Svanda, Byron,IL and Dorothy (Tom) Mahon, Byron, IL. Donald is preceded in death by Parents; Daughter: Peggy; Son: Mark; Brother: Kenneth; and Sister: Lois Russell. Memorial services will be Friday April 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in Leaf River United Methodist Church, Leaf River, IL with Rev. David Poust officiating. Burial will be in 12 Mile Grove Cemetery, Pecatonica, IL. Visitation will be Friday April 27, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. till service time in Leaf River United Methodist Church.
