Mt. Morris, IL, Delores A. Davis, age 87, passed away on January 2, 2018 in KSB Hospital, Dixon, IL. Delores was born February 7, 1930, Des Moines, IA the daughter of Alfred John & Lois Ethel (Linton) Shank. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1948, Highland Community College in Freeport, and she attended Real Estate classes for her License. Delores married James Q. Davis Jr. on November 20, 1948 in Mt. Morris, IL and he preceded her in death in 1994. She was the Secretary to Mr. Watt at Watt Publishing, and she worked for Kable Printing and also for Jerry Griffin Agency selling Real Estate. She was a member of the Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren, Mt. Morris Ladies of the Moose, Oregon Country Club where she enjoyed playing bridge with the ladies. She had a love for music and theater, where she enjoyed singing and performing in the local theater group. Delores is survived by her sons: Greg (Bobbie) Davis, Mt. Morris, IL and Stanley (Ann) Davis, Geneva, IL; 1 grandson: James Gregory (Julie) Davis, Davis Junction, IL; 2 great grandchildren: Jackson and Emma Davis, Davis Junction, IL. Delores is preceded in death by her parents, husband: James Q. Davis Jr., and her brother: Richard L. Shank. Memorial services will be held on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. in the Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren with Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday January 13, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church. Burial will be held at a later date in Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Finch Funeral Home is assisting the family with the services. In lieu of flowers memorials to Mt. Morris Church of The Brethren.
