DeAnna J Hickman

Pecatonica, IL, DeAnna J. Hickman, age 55, passed away on Monday October 27, 2025 in Serenity Hospice & Home, Oregon, IL. DeAnna was born on December 20, 1969 in Freeport, IL; the daughter of Wayne “Brad” & LaVerne (Wagner) Davis. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School class of 1988. She married Brian Hickman on February 23, 1991 in Mt. Morris, IL.

Dee worked as a librarian in Pecatonica Elementary School retiring on December 20, 2024. She loved the children that she was in contact with daily and her Sunday school children. She had unwavering faith, and if anyone needed help, she was there to help and care. Dee had a beautiful, sweet soul, and even while she was battling her illness, she was there for anyone.

Dee is survived by her husband: Brian Hickman, Pecatonica, IL; son: Brandon Hickman, Pecatonica, IL; daughter: Danielle (Paul) Mugisha, Uganda, East Africa; grandson: Wesley Mugisha, Uganda, East Africa; mother: Laverne Davis; brothers: Doug, Dan Davis.

Dee is preceded in death by her father: Wayne “Brad” Davis; and brother: Dave.

Funeral service will be held on Friday October 31, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. in the Mt. Morris Evangelical Free Church, 102 South Seminary, Mt. Morris, IL. Burial will be held in Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday October 31, 2025 from 10:00 A.M. until service time in the church.
