Darrel was born February 12, 1924 in Polo, IL the son of Joseph & Caroline (Schnulle) Strite. Graduated from Mt. Morris High School. Darrel Married Dorothy Nunn on December 24, 1942 in Mt. Morris, IL. Dorothy preceded him in death on January 30, 2006. Darrell farmed all his life in the Mt. Morris Area. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, but his love was his grandchildren. Darrel is survived by his children: Judith Young, Dixon, IL; Sons: James (Rogene) Strite, Mt. Morris, IL and Jeffrey (Diane) Strite, Oregon, IL. 4 Grandchildren: Christine (Matt) Scheffler, Dixon, IL; Kelly (Al) Hildebrand, Dixon, IL; Brad (Kim) Strite, Oregon, IL, and Amy (Todd) Henson, Gas City, IN. 10 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. Darrel is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife: Dorothy; Grandson: Brian Strite; and Son in Law: Frank Young. Funeral service will be held Tuesday August 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL with Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Dixon, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday August 5, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home.
