Daniel L Rosenbalm

October 27, 1951 — January 6, 2024

Daniel Lavern Rosenbalm, fondly known as Dad, Pappy, Step-dad, Brother, Papa, Uncle Ulferts, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family in his home. Born on October 27, 1951, in Dixon, IL to Ellwood (Bud) Rosenbalm and Nola (Louise) Hartle, Dan married Karen Rosenbalm on October 12, 1990, in Sycamore.

Dan was known for his love of classic cars and motorcycles, enjoying cruise nights, being a die-hard Bears fan, being a pool shark, drinking beer, shots of Rumple minze, and eating his sisters' cooking. However, above all else, Dan loved to spend time with his family, who will miss him deeply.

Dan is survived by his children: Brenda (Jerry) Early, Danny Rosenbalm, Brian (Angie) Rosenbalm, and Wendy (Rob) Smice. He was the proud grandfather of Stephanie Wheeler, Jessica (Greg) Stone, Kelsey Smice, Alee (Luke) Ziegler, Desiree Gilbert, Bristol Rosenbalm, Ethan Smice, Chayse Rosenbalm, Emersyn Smice, and eight (soon to be nine) great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Danna (John) Rosenbalm and Dawn Rosenbalm, brother DR Rosenbalm, step-mom Doris Rosenbalm, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife Karen Rosenbalm, step-children Jim and Kelley Stone, sister Debbie Rosenbalm, and parents Ellwood (Bud) Rosenbalm and Nola (Louise) Hartle.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held on February 3rd from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Oregon VFW. Please join us in honoring and remembering this wonderful man who brought so much joy and love into the world.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Serenity Hospice and Home, especially Kacey, Sheila, Val, Linda, and Dawn, for their exceptional care in ensuring that Dan could have a peaceful death surrounded by his loved ones.
