Dale V Chitty

Mt. Morris, IL, Dale V. Chitty, age 85, died September 3, 2013 in Oregon Living and Rehabilitation Center, Oregon, and IL. Dale was born December 4, 1927 in Shawnee, OK, the son of Clifford & Dorothy (Vavra) Chitty. Dale graduated from Flandreau High School, Flandreau SD, and Dunwoody Institute, Minneapolis, MN. Dale joined the United States Marine Corps on June 10, 1945 until his Honorable Discharge on June 11, 1949. Dale was in the 1st Marine Division throughout the world. Dale married Audrey Murphy on June 21, 1950 in Robbinsdale, MN and was married 63 years. Dale was a licenses private pilot. He loved to learn many different trades, where he could fix anything. He was an outdoorsman and loved flowers. Dale worked as a foreman in building maintenance for the DuPage County, IL Forrest Preserve. Dale is survived by his Wife: Audrey Chitty, Mt. Morris, IL, Sons: Lynn (Deborah) Chitty, Millstadt, IL; Will (Karen) Chitty, Deltona, FL; Mark (Maureen) Chitty, Wyoming, IL. Daughter: Beth (Jim) Karmis, Wheaton, IL. Daughter-in-Law: Judith Chitty, Joliet, IL. 10 grandchildren. 7 Great-Grandchildren. Dale is preceded in death by his Parents, Son: Joel; 2 Brothers: Marvin and Forrest. Visitation will be a private family visitation. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Joliet, IL.
