Charlotte A Remrey

Charlotte Ann Remrey, 83 of Mt. Morris, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, February 23, 2026. Charlotte was born on July 9, 1942, to Elmer C. and Mildred Adams Boos in Dixon, IL. She had attended Lincoln School. She married Gary R. Remrey of Nelson, IL on January 4, 1958, at St. Johns Church in Clinton, IA. Charlotte started married life as a homemaker, raising her three daughters. As her daughters grew and times were tough, she wasn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and go to work. She held various jobs over the years; Freeman Shoe Factory, Dixon State School Dietary Kitchen, Prince Castle, and Borg-Warner all in Dixon. A waitress in Franklin Grove, IL., Pinecrest Nursing Home-kitchen and Kable News Co-clerial both in Mt. Morris, IL. After retiring, she became her husband’s caregiver after his disability. Charlotte loved to sew, bake pies, read, watch YouTube and enjoy her solitude. One of her joys in life along with her husband was designing and creating stained-glass windows for Pine Creek Independent Church in Polo, IL. Charlotte is survived by her daughters: Carrie (Brian) Olson of Waterman, IL.; Denise (Kevin) Wright of Mt. Morris, IL.; and Diana (John Peterson) Lantz of Mt. Morris, IL. Her grandchildren: Rich Gray, Jennifer (Ryan) Gray, Rebecca (Eric) Gray, Issac (Michaela) Olson and Jacob (Rachael) Olson. Gabriel (Lori) Wright, Tyler (Liz) Wright and Zachary (Cathrine) Wright. John (Lacey) Lantz, April Clark, Randall Peterson, Cecelia (Michael) Henry and 28 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Lewis, Dixon, IL. and Nieces and nephews. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Elmer Charles Jr and Martin Boos, sister Lillian Boos, grandson Andrew Olson and her fur babies. Charlotte requested no services. Cremation rites have been recorded by Finch Funeral Home. Special Thanks to Mary Fragd, your visits and treats always made her smile.
