Charles R "Chuck" Downer

Mt. Morris, IL, Charles R. "Chuck" Downer, age 71, died Saturday July 8, 2017 in his home with family by his side. Chuck was born October 6, 1945 in Elmhurst, IL the son of Taylor & Erna (Haberkamp) Downer. He graduated from Willow Brook High School class of 1963. Chuck work as a heavy equipment operator and business agent for the local 150 for 50 years retiring in 2001. Chuck loved to plant popcorn, working with his tractors and cattle, playing cards, he was a member of the Mt. Morris Moose lodge #1551 and served as the administrator. Chuck really loved his time with his grandchildren. Chuck is survived by his children: Elizabeth (Patrick) McDowell, Alvaton, KY; Robert Downer, Bokeila, FL; Mary Kathleen (Josh) Sinderman, Neptune Beach, FL; Christine (Lucas) Deverell, Stronghurst, IL; 5 grandchildren: Jordan and Zack Sinderman, Neptune Beach, FL; Sam, Grace, and Gabby Deverell, Stronghurst, IL; Brother: Kenneth (Wanda) Downer, Punta Gorda, FL; Significant Other: Kristine Blake, Mt. Morris, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother: James Downer. Celebration of life will be held on Sunday July 16, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. in the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge, Mt. Morris, IL. Memorials to be determined.
