Mt. Morris, IL - Carla Jean Goeking, 63, died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at KSB Hospital, Dixon, IL. Carla was born March 20, 1947, in Freeport, IL., to John and Jane (Slaughter) Taylor. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School, Class of 1965. She earned an associate's degree in medical transcription from Highland Community College. She attended nurses training at Rockford Memorial Hospital. She married Harold Goeking on July 5, 1969, in Mt. Morris, IL. She was employed as a bookkeeper/manager for C & H Trucking. She lived in the Mt. Morris area most of her life. Carla was a member of the Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren; Served on Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity; Served on Church Board for the Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren; and helped with Loaves & Fish Food Pantry. Carla is survived by her father John Taylor of Mt. Morris, IL; husband, Harold Goeking of Polo, IL; son, Hal (Laura) Goeking of Oshkosh, WI; daughters, Sara (Alex Anderson) Goeking of Logan, Utah; Janet Goeking of Chicago, IL.; grandchildren, Brant and Bryna Goeking, Oshkosh, WI.; four brothers, Kennard (Bonnie) Taylor of Los Angeles, CA., David (Barb) Taylor of Savage, MN., Adin (Helen) Taylor of Oregon, IL., Randall (Lori) Taylor of Holmen, WI.; one sister, Gayle (Charles) Wright of Chaska, MN. Predeceased by her mother. Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Mt. Morris Church of the Brethren, Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial at Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Finch Funeral Home, 405 E. Hitt St., Mount Morris, IL. Memorials to Pinecrest, Habitat for Humanity, Mt.
