Beverly Jean Grove, 84, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at Generations at Neighbors in Byron, Illinois.

Born May 22, 1941, in LaSalle County, Illinois, Beverly was the beloved daughter of Richard and Rosella Thompson. She grew up surrounded by family, faith, and a love of animals that lasted her whole life. As a girl, she adored her horse, Sugar, and even had a pet pig named Oinky — the source of many stories that entertained her daughters for years. Her grandchildren will forever remember their “crazy” grandma, whose feisty spirit and one-of-a-kind personality made her unforgettable.

Beverly’s strong Christian faith was at the heart of who she was. She believed wholeheartedly that her soul would meet Jesus when she passed, and she lived with conviction, energy, and love for those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Rosella Thompson; her brother, LaVerne Thompson; and her husband, Carl Grove. She is survived by her sister, Joyce Verly, and brother, Richard Thompson; her daughters, Kimberlee (Doug) Turner of Doniphan, Missouri, DeAnn (Wayne) King of Pecatonica, Illinois, and Jennifer (Glenn) Fike of O’Fallon, Missouri; ten grandchildren — Kathleen Simmert, Lorelia Simmert, Robin (Ashley) Simmert, Rory Simmert, Craig (Ashley) King, Jeff King, Alyssa King, Kayla (Doug Peters) King, Brian Hagen, and Alec Fike — and five great-grandchildren: Kensington King, Connor King, Elowyn Shutt, Rowan Simmert, and Harrison King.

Beverly will be remembered for her faith, her laughter, her love for animals, and her feisty, fun-loving nature. She brought color and joy wherever she went, and her family will forever cherish the memories and stories she leaves behind.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, at Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris, Illinois. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Generations at Neighbors in Byron for their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care during Beverly’s final years.
