Bettye Ann Pease

On Saturday February 21, 2026 Bettye Ann Pease passed away at home. Bettye was born June 26, 1952 to Richard C. Pease and Ada Jane Webster-Pease in southern Indiana. The 8th child of 10, she grow up on a small farm in Hatfield IN. Later in life, she moved to Northern IL to be close to some of her siblings and to work. Bettye had a diverse career of many jobs, but the most rewarding job was being a house mother at Mooseheart, Child City. She loved to travel especially day trips around Northern Illinois and to see family in Southern Indiana. Bettye enjoyed and was an excellent karaoke singer with a beautiful voice. She was a very good cook and was always trying to find new and special recipes to try and perfect her favorites. Bettye was a skilled crafter and artist. She produced fun, beautiful and practical knit and crochet pieces, giving them to family and friends. She was generous of spirit, and is dearly missed.

Bettye is survived by her life partner Lyle Bushman, brothers and a sister as well as nieces, nephews and her adopted family of step children and grandchildren. Though she had no children of her own, she was a loving, caring, and fun aunt to her nieces and nephews as they were growing up.

A Celebration of Life will be announced for March in Northern IL and another celebration during the Pease Family Reunion in June.
