Betty Jones

Rockford, IL, Betty D. Jones, age 95, formerly of Mt. Morris, IL passed away on Sunday September 12, 2021 in Rockford, IL.  Betty was born on November 29, 1925 in Mt. Morris Township, IL, the daughter of Lee & Dollie (Marks) Avey.  She was born and raised in Mt. Morris, and she graduated from Mt. Morris High School.  Betty married Francis Jones on April 8, 1943 in Cuero, TX and he preceded her in death on October 1, 1995.  Betty was a member of the Methodist Church.

Betty is survived by her daughter: Sharon Jones-Barnhart, Rockford, IL; grandchildren: Angela (Jeff) Oldenburg, Rockford, IL, Christine (Marty) Sanders, Colorado Springs, CO, Michael (Erika) Barnhart, Rockford, IL; great-grandchildren: Tyler & Zachary Oldenburg, Jakob, Reid, Caden, and Brynlie Sanders.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, husband: Francis, daughter: Sheila Miller, and sisters: Charlotte Hardesty, Harriett (Hattie) Rouse, Bethel Andrew, and Janis Bearman.

Funeral services will be held in Silver Creek Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL.  Due to a Covid- 19 the family is having a private family service, but would like everyone to know they wished the services would be open to the public.
