Mt. Morris, IL - Betty Jean Corbett, age 78, died October 22, 2010, in Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home. Betty was born December 8, 1931 the daughter of Elwood & Vernie (McCready) Hanes in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School Class of 1949. Betty married Floyd Eugene "Corby" Corbett, April 17, 1949 in Mt. Morris, IL. She worked as a secretary for the Vice President General Manager of Kable Printing Company, Mt. Morris, IL. Betty retired February 1, 1992. Betty was a member of the Mt. Morris Ladies of the Moose, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Sunset Golf Club. Betty loved bowling, bridge club, golf, cooking, watching the Cubs and the Bulls play, and she loved her family get togethers. Survived by husband, Gene Corbett, Mt. Morris, IL; Son: Ronald E. Corbett, Gilbert, AZ; Daughter: Jenny (Michael Bevill) Gann, Tonopah, AZ. 5 Grandchildren: Peggy (Jeff) Cox, Mt. Morris, IL; Paula Brevig, Glendale, AZ; Jennifer (Erik Diaz) Corbett, Mesa, AZ; Erin Corbett, Orion, IL; and Brittany (Darren) Brown, Orion, IL. 7 Great- Grandchildren: Zachary Cox, Mt. Morris, IL; Taylor and Tatum Brevig, Glendale, AZ; Marissa Corbett-Villa and Isabella Diaz, Mesa, AZ; Kylee and Kamyrn Brown, Orion, IL. Brother: Dennis (Pat) Hanes, Cincinnati, OH; and Sister: Dorie (Al) Hollman, Litchfield Park, AZ. She is Preceded in death by Parents; 1 Son: Fredrick; 2 Brothers: Thomas and Robert Hanes. Funeral Service will be Tuesday October 26, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. in Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL, with the Rev. Virginia Haney officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Mt. Morris, IL. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. till service time in the funeral home.
