London Mills, IL; Berta L. Wolford, age 77, died Saturday September 29, 2012 in Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, IL. Berta was born January 21, 1935 in Rapatee, IL the daughter of Reynold & Alberta (Fullmer) Conlon. She graduated from Spoon River Valley class of 1952. Berta married Robert Ray Wolford on November 1, 1953 in London Mills, IL; Robert preceded her in death on October 29, 1987. Berta was the secretary to the Superintendent of Spoon River Valley Schools. Berta was on the Fulton County Board, Treasurer of London Mills City Board. London Mills Women's Club, London Mill's Village Clerk, She was also the organist and choir director, Church board member for the London Mill's United Methodist Church. Berta is survived by Daughter: Christy (Donnie) Roe, Byron, IL. 4 Grandchildren: Christopher Birks, Peoria, IL; Angela (Jason) Bulleit, Texas; Aaron & Austin Roe, Byron, IL. 1 Great-Grandchild: Gavin Jordan, Texas. Berta is preceded in death by Parents; Husband: Robert; Daughter: Linda Peterson; Brother: Marty Conlon. Memorial service will be Wednesday October 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in The London Mills United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kenneth Harris officiating. Burial of Cremains will be private.
