Barbara Jean "Jeannie" Bordner

Mt. Morris, IL, Barbara Jean "Jeannie" Bordner, age 84, died Thursday October 16, 2014 in Ogle County Serenity Hospice & House, Oregon, IL. Jeannie was born on August 18, 1930 in Canton, IL the daughter of Duane E. & Margaret L. (Walraven) Witt. Jeannie married Marion D. Bordner on November 20, 1948 in Canton, IL. Jeannie and Marion owned and operated retail-clothing stores in Mt. Morris, IL from 1959 to 1988. She was a board member of Citizens State Bank, Mt. Morris, IL; later a board member of Sterling National Bank, Sterling, IL; and retired as a board member of Amcore Bank, Dixon, IL in October of 2000. She was also member of Mt. Morris Chamber of Commerce for 29 years, Mt. Morris Jr. Women's Club, Mt. Morris Senior Citizen's Council, Amcore Bank Ambassador's Club, Mt. Morris Library Advisory Board. Jeannie is survived by numerous family members and friends. A private family service will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded with Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL.
