Barbara L Feary, 74, of Dixon passed away December 2, 2023. She was born January 14, 1949, the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy (Anderson) Saaijenga. She married James Feary on May 29, 1970 in Dixon. Barbara worked at Allied Locke Industries for 25 years and Dixon Public Schools for 15 years. She loved working with children and felt a great sense of purpose in doing so.
Barbara enjoyed her family and spending time with her husband of 53 years, her children, and her grandchildren. She was a proud military mom, and made care packages to send to her son, Timothy, and his fellow soldiers during his six tours overseas. She always wanted to make sure nobody went without. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and spent countless hours spoiling them and attending their events. She loved her church, Pine Creek Christian Church, when she was able to attend. She enjoyed attending live music and visiting with her many friends while there. In her spare time, she loved reading the newspaper or watching a game show. She loved a good card game and always seemed to win at Bingo.
Barbara will sadly and lovingly be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, James Feary; daughter, Kimberly (Derek) Feary; granddaughters, Gabrielle Pepper, Delaney Davis, & Annalise Davis; sisters, Betty (Richard) Ginger, Rose Saaijenga, & Carol Hensley; brothers, George Saaijenga and Robert Saaijenga; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Saaijenga and Sharon Feary; brothers-in-law, William Feary, Robert Feary, & Jack Feary; honorary family member Amanda Pauk, and several dear nieces and nephews.
