Andrea M Dubnick

Andrea M. Dubnick , 63, Leaf River died Monday October 21, 2013 at Swedish American Hospital. Andrea was born May 7, 1950 in Oak Park, IL. The daughter of John and Phyllis (Bauer) Dubnick. Andrea worked at Northwestern University as a secretary in the Anthropology Department for over fifteen years. She married C. Allen Reed on May 22., 1982. She moved to Leaf River from Chicago in 2003. In her spare time Andrea helped to edit and write stories for the Twilight Tales Reading series and with her co-editor Tina Jens shared a Bram Stoker Award in 2000. She loved to read and interpret history as a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Andrea was a volunteer at the Apple River Fort State Historic Site in Elizabeth, IL. She also volunteered in the community with the mentor program of the Forestville Valley Youth Network, the VITAL program at Sauk Valley Community College, and served on the Board of Trustees of the Bertolet Memorial Library, Andrea also was a beekeeper for the last 5 years. She is survived by Allen, her husband; Mark and Harry, her brothers; Sister Hildegard, her sister; and her nieces Julia and Barbara. Services will be in Silver Creek Cemetery on Saturday October 26, 2013 at 1:00 P.M., followed by a celebration of life in the Bertolet Memorial Library, Leaf River, IL. Finch Funeral Home, 405 East Hitt, Mt. Morris, IL is assisting the family.
