Alan "Yogi" Jones

Mt. Morris, IL, Alan "Yogi" D. Jones, age 79, died Friday August 5, 2016 in his home with his family by his side. Alan was born October 10, 1936 in Lake City, MN the son of George & Alice (Dunbar) Jones. Alan was a Navy Veteran entering the Navy in 1953. Alan married Beverly Lantz on July 1, 2011. Alan retired from Sundstrand in 1999 after 32 years. He was a avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. Alan loved to fish, golf and bowl, and he was on a Sundstrand bowling league for 30 years. Alan was a member of the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge #1551 since 1977, where he spent many hours volunteering and socializing with his moose family. Alan is survived by his wife: Beverly Lantz Jones, Mt. Morris, IL; Daughters: Marla (Steve) Herringer, Rockton, IL and Ranae (Sterling Taylor) Leamanczyk, Mt. Morris, IL; 3 Step-Daughters: Sheri Tempel, Salisbury, MD, Michelle Lantz, Salisbury, MD, and Jeanette (Mark) Wolfe, Mt. Morris, IL; 3 Step-Sons: John (Teresa) Lantz, Polo, IL; Jeff (Sue) Lantz, Forreston, IL; and Ken (Melissa) Lantz, Mt. Morris, IL; Grandchildren: Taylor (Brett) Millard, Polo, IL; Sid Barber, Dubuque, IA; Alana Leamanczyk, Mt. Morris, IL; Nathan Anderson, Gypsum, CO; Morgan Anderson, Byron, IL; 12 Step-Grandchildren; 16 Step-Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Kathy Jones, Lake Forest, CA; Darlene (Les) Fry, Rockton, IL; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Alan is preceded in death by his Parents and 1 Brother: George Jones. Memorial service will be held Sunday August 14, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. in the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge. Visitation will be Sunday August 14, 2016 in the Moose Lodge from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials to Serenity Hospice and Home and/or Mt. Morris Moose Lodge.
